CF patients there die far younger than in long standing EU countries.. Demand European Cystic Fibrosis healthcare gap to be closed By Dr. Today in The Lancet A fresh research led by the University of Dundee and published, has found that CF individuals in Eastern European countries die far more youthful than in other, wealthier, EU countries. EuroCareCF, led by Dr David Sheppard of the University of Bristol, provided a discussion board for groups from all over European countries to collaborate to boost the standard of life and life span of individuals with CF.Current users were further classified as new users or long-term users. The experts found that use of NSAIDs or COX-2 inhibitors was associated with an increased risk of atrial fibrillation or flutter. Compared with non users, the association was strongest for brand-new users, with around 40 percent increased risk for non-selective NSAIDS and around 70 percent increased risk for COX-2 inhibitors. That is equivalent to approximately four extra cases of atrial fibrillation each year per 1000 brand-new users of non-selective NSAIDS and seven extra instances of atrial fibrillation per 1000 new users of COX-2 inhibitors.
